OSHA, or the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, mandates that employees working in or around confined spaces must receive specialized training. The level of training required is determined by the worker's role in/around the confined spaces.

- Confined Space Attendant
- Confined Space Entry Supervisor
- Confined Space Rescuer
This program trains workers to the Entrant & Attendant levels.
Upon successful completion of this program, participants must:
- Understand the requirements of OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.146
- Be familiar with basic confined space terminology
- Understand the employer's obligation to implement and maintain a Confined Space Entry Program
- Know the definitions of a confined space (what a confined space is and what it's not)
- Understand the difference between a Permit-Required Confined Space and a Non-Permit Required Space
- Recognize the different hazards of confined spaces (physical, health, atmospheric, configuration, etc.)
- Be familiar with requirements to have rescue team readily available for
- Know and understand the roles and duties of a Confined Space Entrant
- Know and understand the roles and duties of a Confined Space Attendant
- Know and understand the roles and responsibilities of a Confined Space Entry Supervisor
- Know and understand the roles and responsibilities of a Confined Space Rescuer
- Be familiar with special considerations when selecting a rescue service
- Understand requirements of atmospheric monitoring
- Be familiar with monitoring and detection equipment frequently used in confined spaces
- Know the importance of responding only to their level of training
Upon completion of site-specific training, participants must:
- Be familiar with their employers confined space permitting procedures
- Be able to identify the confined spaces in their facility
- Know where needed safety equipment is located
- Be familiar with the limitations of any PPE provided by the employer (including respiratory protection)
- Understand their role in confined space entry procedures
- Know where to find a copy of the employer's written Confined Space Entry Program
