This course is the leading Online Permit-Required Confined Space Training Program and was designed and developed for employees who work in/around confined spaces. OSHA defines a confined space as any space that; Is large enough to bodily enter, and Is not designed for continuous human occupancy, and Has limited means of access and egress.

Online Confined Space Training

OSHA, or the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, mandates that employees working in or around confined spaces must receive specialized training. The level of training required is determined by the worker's role in/around the confined spaces.

There are four different levels of confined space training. These are:

Confined Space Entrant
Confined Space Attendant
Confined Space Entry Supervisor
Confined Space Rescuer

This program trains workers to the Entrant & Attendant levels.

Upon successful completion of this program, participants must:

Understand the requirements of OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.146
Be familiar with basic confined space terminology
Understand the employer's obligation to implement and maintain a Confined Space Entry Program
Know the definitions of a confined space (what a confined space is and what it's not)
Understand the difference between a Permit-Required Confined Space and a Non-Permit Required Space
Recognize the different hazards of confined spaces (physical, health, atmospheric, configuration, etc.)
Be familiar with requirements to have rescue team readily available for
Know and understand the roles and duties of a Confined Space Entrant
Know and understand the roles and duties of a Confined Space Attendant
Know and understand the roles and responsibilities of a Confined Space Entry Supervisor
Know and understand the roles and responsibilities of a Confined Space Rescuer
Be familiar with special considerations when selecting a rescue service
Understand requirements of atmospheric monitoring
Be familiar with monitoring and detection equipment frequently used in confined spaces
Know the importance of responding only to their level of training

Upon completion of site-specific training, participants must:

Be familiar with their employers confined space permitting procedures
Be able to identify the confined spaces in their facility
Know where needed safety equipment is located
Be familiar with the limitations of any PPE provided by the employer (including respiratory protection)
Understand their role in confined space entry procedures
Know where to find a copy of the employer's written Confined Space Entry Program
