This 1-hour online program was designed for employees who have an occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. - Understand what bloodborne pathogens are and what they're not
- Recognize other potentially infectious materials (OPIM's)
- Be familiar with the requirements of an Exposure Control Plan
- Recognize the different precautions and controls to prevent exposure
- Know what protocols should be followed for post-exposure
- Be familiar with Training & Record-keeping Requirements
- Understand sharps management
Upon successful completion of your site-specific training, participants should:
- Know where to locate and access the employer's written Exposure Control Plan
- Be familiar with the contents of their employer's written Exposure Control Plan
- Be familiar with any limitations of the personal protective equipment provided by employer
- Know how to 'don' and 'doff' personal protective equipment
- Be familiar with how to clean, inspect and store personal protective equipment
- Know who to report an occupational exposure to
- Know where Bio-Hazard containers are located in their facility
