This 1-hour online program was designed for employees who have an occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Upon successful completion of this program, participants should:

Know who is covered under OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard
Understand what bloodborne pathogens are and what they're not
Recognize other potentially infectious materials (OPIM's)
Be familiar with the requirements of an Exposure Control Plan
Recognize the different precautions and controls to prevent exposure
Know what protocols should be followed for post-exposure
Be familiar with Training & Record-keeping Requirements
Understand sharps management

Upon successful completion of your site-specific training, participants should:

Know where to locate and access the employer's written Exposure Control Plan
Be familiar with the contents of their employer's written Exposure Control Plan
Be familiar with any limitations of the personal protective equipment provided by employer
Know how to 'don' and 'doff' personal protective equipment
Be familiar with how to clean, inspect and store personal protective equipment
Know who to report an occupational exposure to
Know where Bio-Hazard containers are located in their facility
